2023 was a very good year for YURRUGAR ETTs. Our small show team received several group wins and placements, as well as Best in Show and Runner Up Best in Show, both toy and all breed, accolades. In addition to the numerous wins, we championship titled three of the dogs. Some of our dogs wonderful wins are along this page, please scroll down to view these successes, and to see some beautiful photos too. Yurrugar finished the Dogzonline Point score as Australia's #1 ETT breeder, and the #25 toy breeds breeder in the country. Considering the small amount of shows we do compared to what is on offer, and what others attend, this is an incredible achievement of which we are proud. Quality over quantity indeed. Thank you to the judges and to our friends for recognising the quality of our dogs. Thank you also goes to Rosemarie Forbes and Nicole Rowley, the two people who assist Jennie and myself in showing our dogs. And for our close friends who assist with handling on show days. We look forward to presenting out team again in 2024, as well as some new additions, including this STUNNING girl below.
With thanks to Kellie Jayne Photography for these nice shots of Willow and I from yesterday. Best in Group and on to Best Australian Bred in Show for Ch Yurrugar Beyond Paradise. And showed beautifully in Best in Show itself. Willow is such a nice dog to own and show. She is always wanting to please.
After thinking about it a little, I realised how proud I was of our breeding. We have done three shows in the last four weeks, with four different dogs taking out Group awards. Two with Best Exhibit in Groups, and two with group placements. Myself with Ch Yurrugar Beyond Paradise and Ch Yurrugar Black Widow, Nicole Rowley with Ch Yurrugar Cowboy Casanova, and Rosemarie Forbes with Ch Yurrugar Black Tie Affair. We wish all our friends and puppy owners a most wonderful Christmas and new year period. See you all in 2024. Paige Saunders and all of us at Team Yurrugar. Thanks to judge Carrie Paine for awarding Aust Ch Yurrugar Black Tie Affair a nice Best in Group 4th over the weekend. No photo this time as the day was getting late! A very pleasing few weeks of shows for our dogs.
The Morwell/Traralgon Kennel Club put on a very well run two day show over the weekend of the 11th and 12th of November. Handled by our partner, Dr. Nicole Rowley, Ch Yurrugar Cowboy Casanova "Wyatt" went Best Exhibit in Group under Mr B Ong from Singapore. The next day, taking Best in Group 4th, Paige handled Wyatt's granddaughter Ch Yurrugar Black Widow "Natasha" under Mrs J Sach. Both performed foot perfectly. The dogs never let us down even though they are not shown week in week out. Very proud of them. Might look to venture out again in a few months time. Right now, the ever growing babies are our priority.
Aust Ch Yurrugar Black Tie Affair "Angus" and Rosemarie Forbes, had a wonderful win of Runner Up Best in Group under Mr Rory Doedijns (Netherlands) at the Royal Hobart Show last week. Angus has matured into a beautiful dog and continues to impress. Thanks to Claire Doran as always for the lovely photos.
Belated post, but Willow took Runner up to Best Exhibit in Show at the most recent Toy Specialty of Tasmania event from the puppy class. Angus, Yurrugar Black Tie Affair, has won the past three shows, and now it was Willows turn! Thank you to highly respected toy judge Jacqui Weekes for finding and awarding Willow so highly. The future is very bright.
Our lovely Natasha had a very nice Runner Up to Best Exhibit in Group over the last weekend in July under Ben Brown from Queensland. Unbeknownst to us, Ben has handled and exhibited ETTs in the UK in the past and was thrilled to award Natasha in such a lovely toy group saying she was one of the best he had ever seen. What an honor. Two other ETTs, that we are aware of, with Yurrugar breeding also did well at other shows around Australia over the same weekend, so congratulations to their owners and breeders too!
Rosemarie, Willow and Angus were over in Victoria for the Kings Birthday long weekend. On Thursday, Willow took a lovely Best of Breed over all the older dogs and went on to win Best Minor Puppy in Group. Friday saw Dr. Nicole and her home bred Chloe go Best of Breed. Nice to share it around!
Another show, another success! Willow is a beautiful little lady and we cannot thank Rosemarie Forbes enough for taking on and successfully exhibiting the Yurrugar ETTs.
Thank you to Michelle Doe for capturing our fun girl Natasha competing in Best Minor Puppy in Show at Bunyip over the recent weekend.
We were fortunate enough to have the wonderful and ever supportive Zandi Spicer send us the magnificent Am Ch Spiceisle Diamond Rain (imp USA) "Taylor" when she was in her prime. Taylor passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 14. This beautiful dog has left us with many fond memories, and a lifelong friendship with Zandi.
Beautiful little Natasha continued on her winning ways with yet another Best Minor Puppy in Group win.
Labour day weekend we showed at only one of the many shows that were being held in Victoria and our beautiful little Natasha, Yurrugar Black Widow, was in the ribbons again taking another Best Minor Puppy in Group. Judge from NZ. Aust Ch Yurrugar Black Tie Affair added another Best Exhibit in Group win to his tally down in Tasmania, he topped that off with a Best Junior in Show. We will have a break now and probably return to the ring sometime in May.
We have missed a few weeks of news reporting, and during that time, Angus won another two Best Junior in Group awards in Tasmania, and Chloe took out one in NSW. The past weekend, Angus competed against all breeds in the Tasmanian Puppy of the Year awards making it all the way to the second semi final, just short of making the final 3. What a wonderful achievement for this magnificent young dog.
It has been a big two weeks for our dogs! Another toy specialty show in Tasmania, another BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW win for Angus! That is now 3 from 3 BIS wins at this show for this dog. A week later, he attended two shows for 2 x Best Exhibit in Group wins and then converted one of those wins into a RUNNER UP BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW all breeds! Again loved, prepared and handled by Rosemarie Forbes. Thanks for Angus' personal photographer Claire Doran for once again taking some stunning shots of this dog. Meanwhile in Victoria, we ventured out to the big Classic Dog Club Championship Show, and in a lovely entry for 6-9 month old all breed toy dogs, our exquisite little Natasha took the honors. She is pictured with Paige and the judge, below center.
What a great beginning to the year our Angus is having. BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW at the Toy Dog Club of Tasmania Specialty Championship Show over the weekend, the second time he has won this show. He also took RU Best in Group at the Hobart Dog Club Championship Show on the same day. Yurrugar Brown Eyed Girl "Meg" made a return to the ring for Best Intermediate in Group as well.
Angus continues on his winning ways with taking two Best Junior in Group wins in one day at the Southern Midlands KC Championship shows over the weekend. The week prior, Angus, yet again won Best of Breed and going on to Best Junior in Group. This time at the Tasmanian Kennel Club Show.
Best of Breed and Best Junior in Group yet again for Rosemarie Forbes and Angus, Ch Yurrugar Black Tie Affair. Beautiful photo by Claire Doran.
Between our Victorian and Tasmanian show team over the most recent weekend, our dogs enjoyed a good deal of success. Natasha made her debut at 13 weeks of age and she was a hit with all who encountered her. A most endearing, beautiful little girl, she captures everyone's attention. Mr Jim Black judged Natasha Best Baby Puppy in Group, with our wonderful Henri, Ch Yurrugar V Lone Star Invincible, being Best of Breed ETT and going on to win Best State Bred in Group. Natasha also again won Best Baby Puppy in Group under NZ judge, Mr Clarke. In Tasmania, Angus, Ch Yurrugar Black Tie Affair, took Best of Breed and onto Best Junior in Group under Mrs G Cook. And Torvi, Yurrugar Hello Sailor, gained the last few points needed to now be known as an Australian Champion. The Victorian Team now has another break before looking at doing some more shows later in the year.
It is with thanks to judge Mr Claudio Degiuliani (Italy), that our beautiful Yurrugar Hello Sailor went Best Puppy in the Toy Group yesterday at the Royal Hobart Show, with Aust Ch Yurrugar Black Tie Affair taking the Best of Breed award. Torvi and Angus are both lovingly prepared and handled by Rosemarie Forbes. Photos by Claire Doran
Best of Breed and Best Junior in Group in Tasmania over the weekend for the fabulous Angus, Aust Ch Yurrugar Black Tie Affair.
Paige actually made an appearance in the show ring on Sunday at the Bairnsdale shows and took out Best Owned/Bred/Handled exhibit in group! Henry was also Best of Breed over the famous Wyatt! A break from the shows now, we will see everyone again in late October.
Ch Docdee Angel O Darkness won a very competitive Best Puppy in Group on the Friday show at Bairnsdale under Mr Derbyshire.
Ch Yurrugar Cowboy Casanova, Wyatt, and Dr. Nicole seem to be on a roll with the wins! East Gippsland Kennel Club Championship Show today, they went Runner up to Best in Group/Best in Group 2nd and Best Open in Group once again. Judge was Mr Don Mahoney.
