A WONDERFUL WAY TO END THE FIRST PART OF THE YEAR!

10/8/2026

Picture
We only entered 2 of the 4 shows this past weekend, but what a wonderful day it turned out to be! In the morning, under Mrs Tatjana Urek-Jipping (Slovenia), Yurrugar Little Black Dress was awarded Best Puppy in Group with Nicole's Luna being Best of Breed.

The afternoon became even more special under Mr V Kumpumaki (Finland), with Yurrugar Wishlist taking Runner Up Best in Group from the Minor Puppy class. Little Black Dress also picked up Best Puppy in Group again, while Yurrugar Sasafras Dream was awarded Best Australian Bred in Group. This judge was particularly thorough with heads, markings and even the more finer things like ear leather thickness.
One of the highlights of the day was when the judge asked where I had sourced my dogs from. It was a proud moment to be able to say they are the result of 25 years of our own breeding program, built on the foundations of the wonderful dogs who came before them and helped us get to where we are today.

A lovely day spent with Em, Carol, Nicole and Mum, along with our beautiful dogs. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.

ANOTHER GOOD SHOW

We ventured our to the Heidelberg Championship Show on Saturday the 25th of July. Miss Gigi won Best Minor Puppy in Group, and Oscar was shortlisted for Best in Group and won his Class in Group. Big thanks to judge Mr Michael Hayes for considering our dogs and for his genuine interest and support for our breed over the years. We really appreciate it. The dogs have been doing really well in the ring these past few months. Very proud. Thanks once again to Kellie Jayne Photography for this lovely snap of Em, Lane and myself with the dogs and judge.

MISS GIGI IS ON A ROLL

We entered only one of the four shows that was on offer this past weekend and Georgie repeated her last weekend's achievement of winning best of breed and her class in group.

ANOTHER SHOW, ANOTHER BOW

14/7/2026

Picture
This time for our BEAUTIFUL, magical little puppy Yurrugar Wishlist aka Gigi. Such a special 7 month old, we are ever increasingly delighted with everything about her. So much so, we will repeat the same breeding combination in 2027. A team full of dogs like Gigi is definitely not a bad thing. She won her first Best of Breed, beating dogs so much older than herself, and she deserved it. She also took Best Minor Puppy in Group. She has it all, she is the IT GIRL!

a day to remember

July 4th was a very special day, and while we're thrilled with the result with our lovely boy Oscar, this post is really about the incredible generosity of the sponsors behind it.

It is always a huge honor to win a Toy Group in Victoria. The Toy Group is consistently one of the most competitive groups in the state, with quality exhibits throughout, so to come away with Best Exhibit in Toy Group under Aimee Petersen at the Junior Kennel Club of Victoria Championship Show was something we are very proud of.

A heartfelt thank you to the judge for sponsoring the lovely big rosette, and to The Ackland Family, in memory of David McCullough, for the wonderful PawSomePal framed 12" x 16" watercolour pet portrait voucher. We were also fortunate to receive a lovely cash prize from the club, along with a Plush Puppy voucher, all of which are very much appreciated.

These thoughtful and generous sponsorships add so much to our sport and are greatly appreciated by exhibitors. Thanks to Laura Pratt for the nice photo. Yurrugar ETTs are proud Blackdog Pet Foods Ambassadors.

zach is coming along nicely

24/6/2026

Our young boy, imported from the USA earlier this year, is starting to come into his own. Over the past month, he has stepped into the show ring on three occasions, achieving two Best of Breed wins and one Runner-Up Best of Breed. Most recently, he has continued to impress, earning a shortlist for Best in Group and taking out Best Junior in Group — a fantastic result as he matures. Oscar has had a short break from the show ring while our focus has been on Zach, but he’ll be back out again soon — fresh, ready, and raring to go.

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND

2/6/2026

Pending all final formalities, we’re absolutely thrilled to share that Angus — Yurrugar Black Tie Affair — is our newest A20 Grand Champion. Pictured on the move at the Autumn International in Adelaide with Emma-Lee handling. And the celebrations continue… our beautiful Sassy — Yurrugar Sasafras Dream — has now completed her A20 title, along with her Junior CACIB. Thank you to Emma-Lee, Sally and Carol for taking Angus and Sassy with them on their travels. Angus is now back with his favourite person, Rosemarie Forbes.

It was also a fantastic weekend for mum, Jennie, and I, Paige, here in Melbourne. Our boy Zach made us incredibly proud, being short-listed for Best in Group at his first show in Australia. Thank you Roger Chagas for sending us this happy, truly delightful boy. Our gorgeous little Minky (pictured below with the judge and Paige) took out Best Minor Puppy in Group, and Oscar added to the success with a Best Australian Bred in Group.

We are so proud of these outstanding representatives of our breed and the dedication it has taken to reach these milestones. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports us. Here’s to what’s ahead.

NICE WIN FOR MISS MOCHI

19/5/2026

Little Mochi is now just over 12 months old and blossoming into such a beautiful young girl. 💕 She’s adored by Kari and Macey in South Australia, and we couldn’t be happier with how she’s maturing.

WELL DONE BABY BOY COLIN

14/5/2026

Congratulations to Sally and her beautiful boy, Yurrugar Dream Fearless, aka Colin, on an outstanding start to his show career in Queensland. As many know, I am very selective about the dogs I entrust to be shown by others, so it gives me great pride to see this special little dog doing so well. Colin is truly a beautiful boy, and we couldn’t be happier with Sally as his owner.

CONTINUING ON OUR WINNING WAYS

6/4/2026

We decided to do one day, two shows, of the Dogs Victoria Easter Festival, and we couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. At the AM show, Minky, Yurrugar Little Black Dress was awarded Best Baby Puppy in Group — a nice result for this promising little girl. In the PM show, Oscar was short‑listed for Best in Group, and Sassy won the bow with Best Junior in Group. We are incredibly proud of our Yurrugar ETTs. A huge thank you once again to Kellie Jayne Photography for another beautiful photo of Sassy and I — we’re so grateful to capture these memories so perfectly

Another good win for yurrugar

23/3/2026

Lovely day yesterday, and many thanks to judge Miss J. Jolly for finding Oscar in a lovely line-up of Toy breeds and awarding him Best Exhibit in Group at Bunyip. And what a beautiful rosette! For those not familiar with dog shows: To progress to the Group level, a dog must first win Best of Breed against other dogs of the same breed. Only then can they advance to compete against all other Best of Breed winners within their Group (in this case, the Toy Group). Winning Best in Group means Oscar was judged the best among all Toy breeds on the day — a wonderful achievement. Yurrugar English Toy Terriers are proud and fortunate to be @blackdogpetfoods ambassadors.

NICE LITTLE WEEKEND UP THE COAST

17/2/2026

Our ETTs had a lovely weekend of showing at the Sapphire Coast Shows, with Oscar achieving Best in Group and Sassy Best Junior in Group on Friday (the only day these two were shown), Luna earning RU Best in Group on Saturday, and Luna securing a class in group on the Sunday

ANOTHER SUCCESS FOR THE WONDERFUL OSCAR

9/2/2026

Picture
We were pleased with our decision to attend only the one show this weekend, given that there were four on offer. Oscar secured a notable Best in Group 3rd from a strong lineup, under the expert evaluation of Corinne Walker from Canada. We appreciate Owen McLachlan for capturing the lovely photo. Yurrugar English Toy Terriers are proud to be Blackdog Pet Foods ambassadors. Thanks to the show committee for putting on a wonderful show. The grounds looked amazing.

Off to a great start in 2026

19/1/2026

Sassy is off to a great start in 2026, earning two Best Puppy in Groups after just two shows, building on her strong 2025 performance. Oscar was yet again short listed for Best Exhibit in Group. These two just complete superstars.

From Triumph to Triumph – Closing '25 & Opening '26 with Wins

2/1/2026

Clever Oscar and his daughter Sassy both took out their respective age group classes at the New Year’s Day All Breeds Championship Show. This father–daughter duo are outstanding representatives of the breed, and they just keep getting better! Meanwhile, little Mouse (Yurrugar Snak Pak) was living his best life, soaking up cuddles from puppy-lover extraordinaire Lane. He’s now officially registered—next stop: lead training and the show ring!
We are thrilled to announce that Yurrugar Another Legend has firmly claimed the title of Dogzonline Pointscore English Toy Terrier of the Year for 2025. As the only ETT to take an All Breeds Best in Show during the year, he truly stands out as a STUNNING dog admired worldwide. His success didn’t stop there—he achieved many other impressive wins throughout the year, cementing his reputation as one of the finest examples of the breed. Adding to his legacy, he sired a magnificent litter with the equally beautiful Yurrugar Beyond Paradise, producing none other than Sassy (Yurrugar Sassafras Dream), who is already making her mark in the ring.

LOVELY NEW LITTER!

26/12/2025

Picture
What a wonderful litter Wyatt and Ethel have given us! Born on Christmas Eve, they welcomed an incredible eight lively, healthy puppies. Our bloodlines are known for producing strong, generous litters, and we are absolutely delighted to see Ethel—especially as a first-time mum—handling everything so beautifully and confidently. If you are on our waiting list, please touch base with us. We also welcome new enquiries, as we currently have one male puppy available.

WHAT A WEEKEND! best in show all breeds for oscar!

22/12/2025

Oscar had an incredible weekend – finishing Runner-Up to Best in Group at Yarra Valley under Mrs S Rickard, then backing it up at Sovereign City Championship Show to take out BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW! Huge thanks to Mrs C Scotton for this amazing award. Anyone who knows Oscar knows he’s a quirky little guy – if another dog looks at him the wrong way, if a fly lands on him, or if he suddenly decides bait isn’t good enough, he’ll let you know! But when he’s good… he’s GREAT. Very much his father’s son, thanks Tex.

ZAC WINNING IN THE USA

16/12/2025

Cottage Lakes Twin Flame of Yurrugar (Zac) had an amazing weekend, taking two wins in the 9–12 month puppy class at the recent shows in Orlando, Florida! Zac will be joining us in Australia in early February after nearly 10 months of preparation, including veterinary checks and quarantine. Importing a dog is a long and costly process, so we’re thrilled that there are now only eight weeks to go! A huge thank you to Becky and Emma Lloyd for your incredible work training, socialising, and managing all of Zac’s vet appointments. And of course, heartfelt thanks to our wonderful friends Roger and Marcelo Chagas for breeding this beautiful boy and trusting us to bring him all the way to Australia.

SUMMER SPECTACULAR

11/12/2025

Attended only one of the summer spectacular shows over the weekend. Beautiful Sassy added another Best Puppy in Group win to her collection. Thanks to Mrs B Heal from Canada for finding her in a nice line up of puppies. Sassy's daddy Oscar was his usual amazing self winning another Best of Breed.

weekend away in canberra

19/11/2025

I will aim to keep this post brief. We had the pleasure of attending the international shows in Canberra over the last weekend after having had a few weeks off from the shows. We had a really fantastic time. The weather was mostly pleasant, and the company, grounds, and atmosphere were exceptional.

On Saturday, Oscar achieved both Best of Breeds and was then Short-listed for Best in Group, but it was Luna who was in the bigger ribbons with Best Intermediate in Group in both the morning and afternoon sessions, under the expert eyes of judges from Canada and Sweden. Both dogs also received their A20 certificates, requiring only one more to attain the title. Sunday Oscar was again BOB and Short-listed for BIG in the AM. Chloe was the BOB winner in the PM.

We also celebrated Yurrugar Among the Stars becoming an Australian Champion at just 12 months old, with an impressive record of taking decent challenge wins for the breed, 15, 12, 10s, with Best in Group placements, and class in show wins under respected judges who I admire.

Proud and very fortunate to be Blackdog Pet Foods ambassadors.

ROYAL GEELONG SHOW SUCCESS

20/10/2025

One show for us this past weekend and really, it was mainly done to to give the wonderful "Betty" (our new van!) a decent test run. Exquisite Sassy snagged herself another Best Puppy in Group. Super long day though, home at 10.30pm! Lucky Betty is great to drive and very comfortable. In Tasmania, Rosie and Angus had 2 shows for 2 x Best Open in Group wins. Proud Blackdog Ambassadors #Blackdog Pet Foods

ROYAL MELBOURNE SHOW SUCCESS

8/10/2025

Ch Yurrugar Another Legend "Oscar". 16 point Best of Breed English Toy Terrier at Melbourne Royal under Mr R Delmar (Ireland). Oscar was also Best of Breed at Canberra and Adelaide Royals. A very smart little dog that is a joy to show. His daughter Sassy looked super lovely and went around so well for her little handler Lane. She was Best Puppy of Breed. We also took out the best bitch and reserve best with Willow and Luna. A good day for our team. It was a clean sweep for Yurrugar taking out all the major awards on offer! Proud to be Blackdog Pet Foods ambassadors. #BlackdogPetfoods

MORE SUCCESS FOR OUR LOVELY YOUNGSTERS

16/9/2025

Another Best Puppy in Group this weekend for the very beautiful Yurrugar Sassafras Dream. This time she was handled by her new little friend Lane. What a cute combination they made.

PUPPIES DUE OCTOBER

3/9/2025

We’re delighted to confirm that two of our finest females, Yurrugar Black Widow and Yurrugar Comeback Queen, are in whelp and due in October. These exciting litters result from carefully planned pairings: Black Widow has been bred to Yurrugar Indiana Jones, and Comeback Queen to Yurrugar V Lone Star Conquest. We anticipate keeping a puppy from each of these litters to continue our breeding program. The remaining puppies will be offered to those already on our waiting list. Beyond these two exciting plans, we also look forward to breeding our newest import, Stocky JP Hippy Hippy Shake (IMP JPN), and Yurrugar Outta Yurr League when the timing is right.
