Good weekend at the Adelaide Hills KC shows with international judges. Aust Gr Ch CIB Yurrugar Black Tie Affair, "Angus", was shortlisted for Best in Group under both Dr Jonathan Mesach (Indonesia) and Mr C Weng Woh (Malaysia) and was Best Australian Bred in Group under both judges. Professional photos to come.
We have not exhibited at the Royal Melbourne Show since 2019, but this year I was encouraged, by many of my close friends, to attend. In an entry of 14 under Sylvie Desserne (France), it was a Yurrugar clean sweep with Wyatt, Ch Yurrugar Cowboy Casanova, was Best of Breed, he was also the 2019 winner. He is sparingly shown, his last time out was in February where he was Best in Group under Bernard Ong (Singapore). He enjoyed his day and showed well, always handled by Nicole Rowley. Best bitch and Runner Up Best of Breed was my bestest girl Willow, Ch Yurrugar Beyond Paradise. Best Puppy of Breed, and also the reserve dog winner was Oscar Jack, Ch Yurrugar Another Legend. Handled for the Best Puppy run off by his buddy Emma-Lee Slavin. He performed well considering he was nearly not going to attend after ripping one of his front toe nails out on the Monday. Robert and I worked really hard to get him right for Friday! We had a very lovely day and thanks to everyone for their encouragement and continued support.
In addition to these wonderful wins at the RMS, "Angus" and Rosemarie competed in SA and took out Best of Breed and Best in Group 3rd! A wonderful weekend all round. It is official, the exquisite Aust Ch Yurrugar Beyond Paradise is now also an FCI A20 champion! Willow is Australia's first ETT female to gain this title, and the second ETT in Australia, with our outstanding boy Angus, Yurrugar Black Tie Affair, being the first!
MAFFRA INTERNATIONAL SHOWS - For Oscar "Yurrugar Another Legend" and myself, a Runner Up to Best in Group from the puppy class under Mrs M Sy (Philippines) and short listed for Best in Group and winning Best Puppy in Group under Mr G Whitfield (NZ). Also gained enough points to obtain his Australian Championship title. In South Australia, wonderful Willow, "Aust Ch Yurrugar Beyond Paradise", handled by Rosemarie, took a Best Exhibit in Group 4th under Mrs Janet McGregor (QLD). Also won a nice Best Intermediate in Show at the open show. The gorgeous little ETT, Docdee Way O Darkness took 4 x bitch CCs for her owner/breeder Nicole Rowley. Hard to get it over our Oscar for the time being, but she is very special. In our care whilst Nicole is off on her wonderful European holiday. All Yurrugar bred, daughter of Wyatt and Chloe. BARINSDALE SHOWS - Beautiful little Luna was the star for us at this one with an incredible Runner Up to Best in Group win and 2 x Best Minor Puppy in Group wins. ROYAL ADELAIDE SHOW - Willow took Best of Breed in a decent entry of ETTs.
Whilst we did fail to take pictures unfortunately, we are glad to report that beautiful little DocDee Way O Darkness, co bred and owned by ourselves and Dr. Nicole Rowley, had a nice Best Minor Puppy in Group win at the Lillydale Pot of Gold Show on Saturday the 10th of August under visiting judge from Canada. Oscar, Yurrugar Another Legend, took a nice Best of Breed in company.
Ch Yurrugar Beyond Paradise "Willow" had a good weekend in South Australia taking a Best in Group 4th and a Best Australian Bred in Group. Willow will shortly be back in Victoria, but from her holiday in SA, she has garnered 191 CC points, 2 BIG, 2 RUBIG, 2 A20 and 1 CIB. A wonderful achievement for this stunning girl!
Another weekend, another couple of very nice wins. Our dogs are continuously in the winners circle with Willow taking another Best Australian Bred in Group, along with being shortlisted for Best in Group, in SA, and Oscar winning another Best Puppy in Group here in Victoria. We have most certainly had a very consistent July.
Another Best Exhibit in Group win over the weekend, plus a short list for Best in Group, 3 x Best Australian Bred in Group and 1 x Best Australian Bred in Show for Willow. Although currently with Rosie doing some shows in SA, Willow will be back in Victoria very soon and we cannot wait to have her rejoin our very strong little team!
This time with the pretty little Luna, a gorgeous daughter of Wyatt and Chloe. Pictured here with Mama Jen :D
After a few weeks off, we ventured to a show with Yurrugar Another Legend, aka Oscar. This beautiful young guy continues to impress and was yet again short listed for Best Exhibit in Group and took Best Puppy in Group. This 9 month old has turned many heads and it is obvious that he will just get better and better. And boy does he have ATTITUDE! What a fun little dog.
Two of our dogs, Grand Ch Yurrugar Black Tie Affair and Ch Yurrugar Beyond Paradise, within the last month, have both obtained the necessary requirements to become Australia's first ETT FCI A20 title holders. In addition, "Angus" is Australia's first, and currently only, CIB title holder. It is all rather complicated, but essentially, the CIB title is a FCI International Champion title earned in Australia or Internationally. To become an International Champion, a dog must earn 4 CACIBs (special certificates) in 2 States, under 3 different Judges and they must be from 3 different FCI Member Countries. The A20 title is another, seperate FCI title for an Asia, Africa & Oceania Champion. FCI stands for "The Fédération Cynologique Internationale" (FCI; English: International Canine Federation), and it is the largest international federation of national kennel clubs and purebred registries. The FCI is based in Thuin, Belgium and has 98 members and contract partners (one from each country). This is all quite a massive achievement, and again Yurrugar are making breed history in Australia.
Beautiful Willow "Ch Yurrugar Beyond Paradise" is having a good time in South Australia in the care of Rosemarie Forbes. 1 x Best Exhibit in Group and 2 x Runner Up to Best Exhibit in Group wins at the Riverland cluster this weekend.
Thanks to judge Mr Benny Blidh von Schedvin (Sweden) for the fabulous awards on June 6th, and the promising feedback on our Oscar "Yurrugar Another Legend". Best in group 3rd from the puppy class in a nice lineup of toys. A very nice win under a very well respected judge. This again shows how much promise this wonderful young dog truly has.
Continuing his winning ways, Oscar attended two open shows over the past weekend to be Best Exhibit in Group at the first show, and Runner Up to Best Exhibit in Group at the second show. Lots to work on with him, but he continues to be extremely promising!
Is this beautiful little dog following in the footsteps of his famous aunt "Lexi"? Yurrugar Dream Come True. Many believe so! And we do to. It is becoming evident that this dog is extremely promising. Shortlisted for Best in Group, just making some typical mistakes that a baby his age would make that probably then discounted him from taking those major awards, but he went on to easily win his class in group, minor puppy, with the judge stating that this dog had a massive future.
Our wonderful 7 month old "Oscar" Yurrugar Another Legend, had a successful outing at the Dogs Victoria Open Show on May 11th taking out Best in Group from the Minor Puppy class. This outgoing boy holds such promise, he is such a joy. We look forward to his future.
Congratulations to the lovely Jan and her wonderful little Niko, Aust Grand Champion Yurrugar Wicked Witch Ofthe West. Best Veteran in Show at the recent Toy Dog Club of WA show. Niko is now 8 years old and is still looking a well as ever. In Victoria, we ventured to the CACIB and A20 shows with Aust Ch Yurrugar Beyond Paradise taking out both Best of Breeds and Aust Grand Champion Yurrugar Black Tie Affair being best male at both shows. Angus' two FCI titles are now only a show away!
Our Wyatt x Bonnie litter has arrived! All 4 babies are doing exceptionally well and are all spoken for at this time. To those who have missed out this time around, do not lose hope! We have recently bred another beautiful combination and have more plans for the Spring. We appreciate your patience and cannot wait to get STUNNING YURRUGAR ETTs out to you all!
We would like to thank the organisers of THE PET SHOW, and all the visitors that came by to see the ETTs over the weekend. It is truly incredible to see how many people were genuinely enchanted by the breed, with most coming by having never heard of them. It is quite the reminder that this is a rare breed in the eyes of the public. We are so used to seeing the dogs every day that we often forget this! A massive thanks to Kim Loasby who bought along her Jonty and Enzo both days. These two little guys did not stop and lapped up every bit of the love they received from the crowd. These dogs are a testament to their incredible owner and definitely portray the breed in a wonderfully positive manner. The enthusiastic inquiries we have received in just the first evening since the expo has been extremely encouraging. Remember, when looking for an ETT puppy, do your research and find a breeder that you connect with. We look forward to breeding some beautiful dogs in 2024 to place in some very wonderful homes.
We sincerely appreciate the significant attention directed towards our dogs and puppies in recent times, originating from both our existing clientele and potential owners, spanning across local and international domains. Presently, we are diligently working to accommodate these requests by meticulously planning pairings scheduled for the current year. Please be assured that our dedication to delivering outstanding canine companions remains unwavering, and we extend our gratitude for your patience and understanding during this process.
Rosemarie Forbes and Yurrugar Black Tie Affair have achieved Grand Champion status! Angus has enjoyed numerous victories, including multiple Toy Specialty BIS and all-breed RUBIS, as well as group wins and runner-ups. He is closing in on his Supreme title with just a few more group wins required. Angus is a beautiful dog and a true showman. Angus took a very nice RUBIG over the weekend at Cohuna too. A wonderful way to finish off this grand milestone.
Thanks to the Central Gippsland KC Committee for yet again putting on a very enjoyable show. We were fortunate enough to win a wonderful Baby Puppy Sweepstakes class with our very beautiful young boy Yurrugar Another Legend. A quality class of over 20 all breed babies. Aust Ch Yurrugar Beyond Paradise then went on to win RU Best in Group among some very nice toys. Many thanks to the highly respected judges, Mr Kerry Lee and Mrs Sue Langford, for finding and awarding these two lovely examples of our breed.
Beautiful litter from Wyatt, Aust Ch Yurrugar Cowboy Casanova and Chloe, Aust Ch Docdee Angel O'Darkness. One will stay on with us with the rest being placed with wonderful people from our waiting list. Wyatt will again sire another litter soon, this time from our exquisite Yurrugar Cotton Candy.
Another Runner Up to Best in Group and on to Best Australian Bred Exhibit in Show for Angus over the last weekend of January. He is so very close now to attaining his Grand Championship title.
Hot day at the show held on the 6th of January at the picturesque KCC Park in Victoria, but we had all the precautions in place for the dogs and they seemed very comfortable. Willow was final 4 for Best in Group and went on to be Best Australian Bred under Mr Nathan McGreevy who was very lovely to show to. Rosemarie Forbes and Angus had a very nice Runner Up Best in Group at the show they attended as well.
