Reservation policy for our puppies
Our dogs are at the heart of everything we do, and finding the perfect homes for them is our top priority. Breeding and showing English Toy Terriers is a true passion—but it’s also an expensive hobby! I work full-time outside of dogs to help cover these costs, which means the time I spend with potential puppy families is precious.
Because of this, we focus on serious, committed new owners who are ready to welcome a puppy into their lives. For that reason, we’re unable to hold puppies for several days while decisions are made. In the past, we’ve found that most people who request this never follow through, and it takes time away from those who are ready to commit.
When we have a litter available, we prioritise inquiries from those prepared to secure their puppy. Before reserving, we’ll have a chat to ensure you’re ready for this lifelong commitment—our goal is for every puppy to go to a loving, permanent home.
To reserve a puppy, we require a $500 deposit, which is included in the overall cost of the puppy.

Our English Toy Terrier puppies are born in a cozy whelping box inside the home, where they are part of everyday family life. As they grow, they enjoy playtime in a dedicated outdoor puppy playground, but continue to sleep indoors at night for comfort and security.
From an early age, they are gently exposed to a variety of experiences—adult ETTs in the home, people coming and going, car rides, and even the sights and sounds of cats, horses, and cattle at the back fence. This helps us raise puppies that are confident, well-adjusted, and have exceptional temperaments.
At Yurrugar, our primary goal is to breed beautiful, healthy, world-class English Toy Terriers. We generally keep at least one puppy from each litter for showing, and any we do not retain (as it’s not practical to keep them all) are offered to the very best companion homes. Show and breeding prospects are reserved for ourselves and select international enthusiasts only.

What is the difference between a “Registered Breeder” and a “Registered Breeder with Dogs Victoria”?
Yurrugar English Toy Terriers are proud members of Dogs Victoria. You may have seen breeders advertise as “Registered Breeders,” but this term can be misleading. It often means they are registered with their local council as a Domestic Animal Business—not with Dogs Victoria or another ANKC (Australian National Kennel Council) state body. As Dogs Victoria members, we adhere to strict rules, regulations, and a comprehensive Code of Ethics.
The ANKC is the only Australian organisation whose dog shows are internationally recognised by other canine controlling bodies worldwide. For more details, please visit the Dogs Victoria website (linked at the bottom of our Contact page).
In addition to our Dogs Victoria membership, we also hold a PER Source Number issued by Animal Welfare Victoria. This is a legal requirement for Victorian breeders and ensures compliance with state animal welfare standards.
Our Dogs Victoria membership number, PER Source number, and details of genetic and health testing for our breeding dogs are available to new puppy owners once a relationship has been established. We also have many happy owners who are willing to provide references upon request.

Every pairing is carefully planned with thought and intention, ensuring exceptional quality and temperament. Our companion puppies are of show standard, reflecting the high level of care and selectivity in our breeding program. From each litter, we typically retain one puppy to continue our show and breeding lines, while the others are placed in loving homes. We offer ongoing, lifelong assistance to all our owners!
